Acorn via The Roku Channel: Why am I suddenly getting commercials?

I subscribed to Acorn via the Roku website and yesterday I suddenly started getting commercials. Acorn customer service hasn't responded. I've restarted the Roku 4. Next up is changing the subscription but I'd really rather not.

For clarification, are you playing free content from Acorn or are you playing content by accessing the Acorn section within The Roku Channel?
