We subscribed to Roku to get the Acorn TV channel to specifically watch the Australian series "McLeod's Daughters". Close captions were fine for seasons 1-3. Beginning with season 4 there are no captions. Some portions of the "Aussie speak" are unintelligible and we need the close captions. Any suggestions?
Contact Acorn TV and ask them why not all episodes have CC. It's nothing in the Roku that is stopping it, as shown by some episodes having captions and others not.

We have stopped watching Acorn even though we subscribe to it, because we get subtitles for the first five minutes, and they suddenly stop. This happens on all their shows. Customer support was useless.
On Acorn I get subtitles for 20 minutes and then they suddenly stop.
Why?
How is this problem fixed?
Hi @MaryGrace19
Thanks for the post.
Does the issue with the subtitles only happen to contents within the Acorn TV channel? If yes, we would recommend following the suggestion provided by our Streaming Expert @atc98092. Channels on Roku are maintained by the respective channel and we have no control over the programming or operation of it.

We appreciate your understanding.
All the best,
Kariza
All of a sudden after several years of watching Acorn with the closed captions we have to reboot the Roku (unplug it and plug it back in again) when we select it. We start to watch something, realize the captions aren’t there, reboot the Roku and then the captions are back until the next time. They stay on through several programs as long as we don’t go away from the Roku connection.
