Wired doorbell not charging

Wired wireless doorbell not charging. It shows its charging only for about a minute after first connecting it then the charging symbol disappears. Ive tried connecting and disconnecting a few times and it happens every time. I've made sure everything is connected properly. Any suggestions or fixes?

Re: Wired doorbell not charging

I tried the chat with support but the tech did not understand my issue and kept asking about my charger even though i explained the problem wasn't with the charger. He wouldn't understand that my doorbell is  installed wired and not wireless

Re: Wired doorbell not charging

Hi @Vic88,

Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

We are here to assist you today with your concern about your Roku Wired Video Doorbell not charging.

Please note that you do not need to charge the wired Roku Video Doorbell, as it operates on the electricity supplied by your home. To assist you better, we need to confirm which Roku device you are using. Please check the model number of your Video Doorbell, which can be found on the back of the device.

We look forward to your response.

Thanks,
Riamie

Re: Wired doorbell not charging

Yes i have the wireless model but opted to install it hardwired using my original doorbell wiring on the house. The issue is the battery still shows its dying despite being powered by the wires.

Re: Wired doorbell not charging

Hi @Vic88l,

Thanks for your response!

We strongly recommend that users of Roku Smart Home devices utilize only the wires and accessories provided with the product at the time of purchase.

Using other types of wires may not only lead to compatibility issues but could also impact the device's performance and reliability. It's always best to stick with the equipment specifically designed for optimal operation with your Roku device.

Additionally, we would like to know where and when you purchased the Roku Wire-Free Video Doorbell SE.

Please keep us posted.

Thanks,
Riamie
