Error Code -1 on all 4 Cameras

Jump to solution

I have other cameras (different camera brands) in the house and outside and they are all working smoothly. What’s happening to the roku indoor cameras? Any work around? I have already powercycled, reset one of the cameras and it didn’t help.

Hi @jellamae,

Great to see your first post in the Roku Community!

We saw your post about encountering Error Code 1 on your Roku Smart cameras. Don’t worry, we’re here to help!

This issue typically occurs when the mobile app can’t connect to the camera. Let's try these troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem:

  1. Verify the Camera’s Connection: Ensure the camera is properly connected to the internet and functioning as expected. Also, check for any network outages in your area.

  2. Restart the Camera: In the Roku Smart Home app:

    • Go to the Home page
    • Select your camera livestream
    • Tap the Settings or Gear icon and select "Restart Camera"
  3. Reinstall the Roku Mobile App: Uninstall the app, then reinstall it to refresh its settings.

  4. Power Cycle the Camera:

    • Unplug the USB cable from the back of the camera.
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Plug the USB cable back into the power input on the camera.

We hope these steps help! If the issue continues, please let us know, and we’ll assist further.

Cheers,
Riamie
