I have a roku express box 3930eu. 

My photoview app on my roku express box doesn't seem to be able to show the contents of albums anymore.

I used to get this error message.

An error occurred in "handleGetAlbumList" code 429. the requested url returned error 429.

So I went to the photoview support page and it directed me to the github.

Still no joy.

Do I have to get another roku box? Is that the thing now if your software doesn't work you have to upgrade your hardware?

Roku has nothing to do with that app, so if the app's support can't help you I don't know where else you can turn.

I have the exact same problem that you were disgusting but your instructions left me lost I don't know where to find the Google support or the other place that you're referring to and where do I look personally could benefit with more information

So I went to the photoview app support page and started a thread on that.

It seems like Roku are washing their hands of any responsibility.  See previous comment.

Not sure if I can take it any further. Probably getting another Roku box which supports the photoview app would be one option. However, it seems it's just like the way the world is now. People upgrade hardware. Software gets updated. Some software no longer works or is supported and so it goes on.

We want to investigate the issue you encountered with the Photoview app more closely. Is this the only channel that you're experiencing problems with? When did the issue start?

I don't know this app but I looked around github and found this comment from the developer:

"HTTP ERROR CODE 429 error is due to Google API rate limiting the application. Sometimes we have people that use up all the millions of available API requests for this application and impact others.

Count resets at 12:00 pm PT from Google side. Nothing we can do from the application side. This is why we "try" to limit API requests as much as possible in the application"

I think it's John, Yes, this is the only channel on my otherwise excellent roku express box that I'm having problems with. I used to use the app all the time to look at my albums.

The issue started about a month ago now. I think I started the thread as soon as it started if you want to look back.

Hi,

I thought because I have so many albums of all my photos and videos on google photos that this might be the problem so I have cut my number of albums down. However it still is giving me grief.  I have reloaded the app this morning but it's still the same fault report.

That comment about the rate limit being exceeded would mean there's nothing you can do unless the dev changes things on their end, neither can Roku do anything.

It would be easiest to switch apps or use Roku Photo Streams with Google Photos integration.

Don't remove any more albums or anything though, it's not your libraries fault.

So I clicked on the link you embedded in your reply and it says that roku photo streams isn't available in your region.

If I type in roku to the search facility on the home page it doesn't show any photo streaming apps. Even if I type in photos no app shows up that look like it could remotely work.
