I've been using the Youtube apps for quite a while and this morning both Youtube and YoutubeTV apps say there is not network connection. But all the other apps and my home devices all are working fine with the internet. I tried removing app, rebooting roku, and reinstalling app. Didn't work. I can connect just fine from my PC or my phone with both using the same wifi connection that the roku is failing on.
Now what?
This is for Roku Streaming Stick 4k which wasn't a choice for "Associated Products".
I determined that my problem was my internet service provider, Spectrum. It is a technical issue, but it appears that they have not got their encryption working normally. I'm guessing they didn't pay their encryption certificate providers and it expired.
What that means is that the roku can't send the user and password in a guaranteed secure fashion and my router complained and blocked it.
I was able to change my router's "Threat Prevention" to go ahead and allow the somewhat unsafe activity.
I also had to do a factory reset on one of my 3 Rokus that seemed to be really messed up. So now all 3 Rokus are working fine for me.
This may or may not be what your particular problem is.
Never mind. Either it cleared itself up, or I changed the router to allow something that was blocked. The block was because of "ET USER_AGENTS Suspicious User Agent no space".
I was wrong. It isn't working again and there are not complaints on the router. Youtube TV isn't working at all. Youtube let me in, but the icons for channel, CC, and others are all boxes with x in the middle. No icons. But at least it works. What is going on. Is the problem Roku or Youtube?
Thanks for reaching out here, @mtiede!
Looks like you're having some playback issues with YouTube TV and the YouTube app, and we're here to help!
Have you thought about rebooting the router to see if that helps? If not, please give it a shot and let us know if it does the trick!
Please keep us posted.

Odd. Now I can't access any of the roku apps. They show up, but when I select one, it starts to load and then doesn't get to the sign in for the app. No errors or messages on my Threat Prevention on the Router.
So I went to check on another Roku in another room. It barely booted up. Right now, the background picture is upside down, no app icons show, but it says something like "42 of 44". Half of the menu is there. I can't interact with it at all. I have one more I'll check.
Oh, and my router is fine for using at the PC I'm using now. I watched Youtube on the phone and cast it to the TV. So Youtube is working ok, just nothing on the roku.
I'm starting to wonder if some malware got in the Roku?
