Roku picture quality not as good as built in tv apps

I deleted the apps I installed and disabled most of the pre installed apps on my Sony X 85K .  It has a great picture anyways but I did notice a marked improvement in speed.  Smoother and faster now that it is app light.  As to why the image quality seems inferior on the Roku I can’t say.   Maybe go to settings on your Sony and make sure your external devices are set up in enhanced mode (high resolution, 4K, HDR).    My Roku is set up to display Dolby Bright on my Sony.  Standard Dolby and (or) HDR 10 didn’t look good but Dolby Bright was the ticket, colors pop and the highlights stand out.   I routinely unplug and restart my Roku Box to clear the cache and free up memory for faster, smoother operation.   You can also check your Roku Box under network settings to see if your download speed is sufficient to support 4K HDR…
