Roku channel auto loading

I have not loaded the Roku channel but when i turn my tv on the Roku channel has loaded and is starting to play a movie. I then remove the channel. This happened 5 times this week.  Anyone know how to stop this happening?

Re: Roku channel auto loading

Welcome to the Roku Community, @Toni255!

We'd be happy to be of assistance here and review your concern thoroughly so we can provide you with the most accurate resolution.

Just to clarify, are you trying to stream The Roku Channel, but when you try to open the app, it reverts you back to the home screen? We'll need more information about this so we can help you continue streaming.

Looking forward to your response.

Warm regards,
Carly

Re: Roku channel auto loading

Hi, I have the same issue.  The Roku channel app reinstalls itself after I delete it and whenever I start the Roku it automatically plays the Roku channel. Is there a fix for this?

Re: Roku channel auto loading

Hey, @Davecpa511.

Thanks for chiming in!

Have you considered removing the batteries from the remote and seeing if the issue persists? It could be that the remote is sending a random signal to the device.

Let us know what you find out!

Re: Roku channel auto loading

It happens intermittently. Since you suggested it may relate to random codes from the remote I realized a toddler has been playing with the remote some days. It may be a delayed reaction relating to him randomly pushing buttons on the remote.  I'll keep this in mind and report back if it's definitely not caused by him. Thank you.

Thanks for the update, @Davecpa511!

To further isolate the issue, if you have a spare remote, try pairing it to the affected Roku device and see if the issue persists.

Please keep posted!
