Roku Streaming stick keeps freezing in multiple streaming apps

I have performed a factory reset and my problem continues to occur. While watching in program within any streaming app, ROKU freezes. First the video freezes while the audio continues. Then after a few minutes, audio is lost and entire streaming app freezes. Later, the screensaver comes on and I need to turn off/turn on to start all over the designated streaming app.

I am ruling out WiFi or slow internet issues because i can not replicate the problem with the Firestick and the Roku streaming stick is 2 ft away from WiFi router.

Please help …

How are you powering the stick?  If you're using the TV's USB port, try using the supplied power adapter plugged into the wall.

One other possibility comes to mind since you're two feet from the router.   It is actually possible to be so close to the router that it overpowers the wifi receiver in the Roku.  Sometimes moving only a few inches can make a difference.
