Roku 3 Video Delay on Playback

Hi All, 

Using an old Roku 3 device, and trying to watch the new season of American Idol. The problem is the video is not in sync with the audio. The video is about 10 seconds behind the audio. I did a factory reset; software update, and the problem persist. I tried other tv shows and movies and all work perfectly. The problem is only with American Idol. Our other tv with Roku built in is fine, no problems with American Idol playback. Only a problem with the Roku 3 device.

Thanks for reaching out regarding the issue you've encountered with your Roku 3 device having video delays.

The Roku 3 is considered legacy hardware. While it can run the latest operating system, it may not support all new features and updates. Some users have also reported performance issues with certain apps or content. This explains the issue you are experiencing.

The streaming expert makes a good point. Having owned all versions of Roku devices, I upgraded from the Roku 3 to an Ultra and there is NO comparison in performance, speed, features etc. I urge you to move up to something more current especially if you own a 4K TV like most.
