Option to play youtube from PC to Roku is gone- button missing.

Jump to solution

I have 2 laptops and there has always been a button at the bottom of the youtube window that lets you play a youtube video on the TV that the roku is plugged into, and since we have 2 roku's, it would let me choose between living room or bedroom roku's.

But now, when I play a youtube video on either laptop (one is win 10 and other is win 11) that button just is not there anymore, its normally at bottom of video window by full screen button.

The button is still there on my cell phone when using youtube app.

Any idea why its missing on laptop youtube windows?

Hi, @bum4evr

Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community.

We came across your post where you mentioned that an option is missing with the YouTube app on your laptop. You may be referring to the casting feature.

It is an indication that the casting option is not available with the YouTube version on your laptop. For this matter, we recommend reaching out to YouTube's support and inquiring further about your concern since they will be able to help and provide a work around or that their app needs an update on their end to resolve the issue.

We hope for your understanding in this regard.

Best wishes,
Kash
