My Roku 2 says Amazon Prime Software Out of Date

Jump to solution

I've updated the software and restarted the Roku (twice) so I definitely have the most current software available (Version 9.1.0, Build 5009) but the Amazon Prime Software Out of Date still prevents me from accessing Amazon Prime.

Hello! @risubrin,

Thanks for your post in the Roku Community!

We appreciate you contacting the issue with your Roku 2, where the Amazon Prime software is outdated. We're happy to help.

The device you are using can no longer support the most recent features.

This means this device will no longer get new features or streaming channels, updates to existing channels, or other software-related updates. You can keep using your Roku player to stream your current channels. However, you may lose access to some channels as those channel partners update.

If you haven't already upgraded your device, you should have received an email offering to purchase a new player at a discounted price.

Please check your inbox; we have sent you a private message to assist you further in claiming a new Roku player at a discounted price.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know.

Regards,
Arjiemar

The Roku 2 is long out of date (released back in 2011) and Roku stopped support years ago. It's possible Amazon has stopped supporting it, too. The current Roku OS version is 13.1.
