Roku and Roku Tv

I purchased a Roku device that connects thru HDMI. Now I bought a Phillips Roku Tv. Are these 2 seperate accounts or recognized as 2 devices and 1 account? I have the HDMI device connected to another tv. Just wondering also how my router recognizes these Roku connections.

Re: Roku and Roku Tv

Whether they are on the same or different accounts is up to you.  Most people connect all their Roku's to a single Roku account but some create multiple accounts so they can create different channel line-ups on different devices.  If you don't like the way it is now, you can factory reset one or both Rokus to change it's account connection.

Go to Settings > System > About on each Roku.  If they have the same email listed there, then they are on one account.

I don't understand the question about the router. The router will give each a local IP address, but I don't think it know anything about accounts.

When a device connects to your router, the router assigns a unique numerical address, known as an IP number, to each connected device.

Each packet of data send by the router is tagged with the IP number of the destination device it is intended for.  Each device on the net receives ALL of these data packets, and sorts through them to grab just the ones intended for it.
