Re: Removing channels online

While I realize this is an old post, I think Roku is ridiculous on this. We have six Rokus.. 2 - HD's, 2 - XS's and 2 - 1's (from the BF sale November 2016) I'd like the channel listings to appear the same on all devices and I'd like to delete a few that are on all devices all at once. This method of channel management is terrible to say the least. As a side note, this requires log in activation for subscribed channels on EACH device which is very time consuming. Sure wish Roku would fix this BS.. And yes, we use all these TV's nearly every single day, except the back patio which is weekends about 9 months out of the year and the guest room which is intermittent. These TV's have the $25 Rokus connected to them.

As for the delete comment, you can delete a channel from one Roku and the channels will go away as soon as the other Rokus do an Update check, or you do a manual update check. There are some channels not compatible with the certain Rokus and are on the new ones, you might get a slightly different lineup, because of that. Now the order cannot be synced if that's the main complaint. Also the authentication comment. I know of no streaming device that has a cloud-based password management system (which is what would be required). Also, some channels have limits on how many devices you can have connected to them at one time. Vudu is one of them. There there's channel providers that might opt to not allow for cloud password storage. So, what you're asking for is more complicated than you realize.

Actually, Apple TV allows authentication against a TV provider. That won't handle things like Netflix, but it will allow NBC, USA, Fox, ESPN, and several apps that use cable/satellite/provider authentication to all use the authentication from a single content provider. But, they only support (as of this writing) 13 providers. That's a step towards what people are wanting, but, as you said, it's not there yet for all apps, for any device.

Re: Removing channels online

Is it possible to edit the app list found at <myrokuipaddress>:8060/query/apps and then reload it so that the list is the same for all Rokus on my network, which are two each of the following, Roku 2 HD, Roko 2 XS (2012 or 2013) and a couple Roku 1's picked up last November in the Roku BF Sale.

Re: Removing channels online

Why does Vudo even care? The more boxes connected, even if under the same account, the more rentals they will get.

By not making it easy to configure defeats their purpose by being just another crazy thing that makes it easier to obtain content by alternative means than by legal means. If they really think they're protecting their content this way they are very mistaken.

Re: Removing channels online

I only had my roku less than a month and had not put app on phone. My Roku was stolen and I can't delete channels from my computer so I'm screwed. A person should be able to track the use of it if it's still registered to me. But NO THAT WOULD TOO EASY, and roku would loose money
