I know my card is going to decline when they try to charge me in the 5th. Will they attempt the charge again? Surely they don’t cut you off with no grace period.

Charge you for what? Are you subscribed to Netflix or some other service through Roku Pay?

It very well may happen. I can't speak with certainty on it, but if you end up with a decline, and service is interrupted, you may find that it's a hassle to re-submit.
To avoid a decline and any flags that entails, you may want to bite the bullet and cancel the subscriptions. They'll continue through the end of the period. Then, when you're ready, resubscribe.
Not what you wanted to hear, I know, but it's what I would do, and what I'd suggest to my son that he do.
