how is there no way to call about the monthly roku charges I thought if I have the device you don’t have to pay

Did you call someone to activate your Roku? If so, you got scammed. Otherwise, check your subscriptions at https://my.roku.com/account/subscriptions. If you can't log into your account at https://my.roku.com then you really have a problem.
