I cancelled my HBO Now subscription thru Roku at the end of May. The cancellation notice said that my subscription would end on 6/16/2020.
I'm trying to sign up for HBO Max through a different service, but HBO still shows me as an HBO Now subscriber through Roku.
How can I get Roku to notify HBO that my HBO Now subscription has ended?
Jeff
Thanks for the inquiry.
For more information about that channel's account functionality, you'll want to contact HBO support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.
You can reach HBO support here: https://www.hbo.com/about/contact-us
Thanks,

I ran into the same situation. I contacted HBO Max support through chat and after an hour or so of non-support they told me I would need to contact Roku to see if they could help.
I ended up logging into the HBO Now web site and adjusted my e-mail address on the old account to one of my "throw away" gmail accounts I use for Spam-ie things.
I was then able to create a new HBO Max account with the email address I had been using while I was billed through Roku.
Sorry Roku, you won't be getting a kickback for processing my HBO sub any longer.
Same. HBO blamed Roku for not "releasing email". Only offered solution of using another email for HBO Max sign up. Passwords are hard enough to remember, now I have to remember which email?
Same issue.
Had HBO through Roku. Now I have AT&T's Unlimited Elite package so HBO Max is included. I have unsubscribed from my Roku HBO account as of 11/14/2020. It is now 11/17/2020 and I am still unable to log into HBO Max.
Called HBO, they said they cannot do anything and that AT&T would be able to help with a Tier 2 or 3 support that would have to adjust my permissions for HBO Max access.
Called AT&T and they outright told me that Roku is hanging onto my email address that is still associated to the expired HBO account and causing a conflict when I try to log into HBO Max. Roku is the only one that can release my email address (which is my username).
I contacted Roku by email and they have sent me a few canned responses that do not address releasing my email address at all. They seem to be lower level support techs that do not fully understand the issue and are simply copying and pasting KB articles.
Very frustrating... to say the least. I am being punished for having too many HBO accounts - nuts...
