OOPS! I didn't remember that I set up an account for the forum before I had purchased the device. So, my question is how to set up and account that I use to activate the device.
My device is a Roku Express. I've connected it to the TV using the HDMI cable. I have no idea how to use the device, so I searched support to learn what to do next. I followed the links there and it seemed that I need to set up an account, but I haven't found a link that says anything about how to do it. So...
1. Do I need to set up an account? 2. Do I need a separate account to use this forum? Or just use the same account?
My Roku account here is the same one my Roku devices are linked to. During the linking part of the setup process you'll be able to link to your existing account or set up a new one.

Have you connected the device to your TV and gone through the setup process? It should walk you through it. You can set up an account at https://my.roku.com

But I'm still uncertain how to do the basic things, like how to actually view a program. Those topics are probably covered in the videos, but I'm more of a words-person rather than a visual-person, and ususally when I've learned how to do the basics, I'm good at figuring other tasks on my own.
I'll open a new discussion here and explain what I'm seeing on the TV screen. Then maybe you and others will help me from that starting point.
