My debit card, used for Roku and all associated accounts via Roku, such as Hulu, was infiltrated and used fraudulently by some online crook. I immediately cancelled the card.
I needed to update payment method for Roku, originally paid for by the previous now cancelled cared.
However, Roku has an issue that won't let me update to a new payment method. It is now over a week and Roku just keeps telling me it is with their engineers to resolve.
1 week????? Either they don't have engineers or their system doesn't work. That in itself worries me as maybe Roku's card payment system is compromised. I will give it 24 hours and then cancel Roku for ever. @roku
anyone else have this problem with Roku?
You don't have to pay Roku for most subscriptions. You are better off paying the channels directly. You don't need to pay Roku just to use a Roku.

Just to clarify...
Any paid subscription you sign up for through Roku must be paid for through Roku.
Any subscription you sign up for directly with the channel on its website will be paid directly to the channel, not through Roku.
If you want to go that way, unsubscribe from your subscription of the channel through Roku. This will keep it from auto-renewing at the end of your prepaid subscription period, but it will remain active for the duration of the pre-paid period. When the subscription runs out you can then sign up on the channel's website.
Advantages of subscribing directly with the channel:
