Trying to cancel a subscription when not having access to an old email

Jump to solution

Okay, so I haven’t used this email in over three years and recently am trying to cancel my HBO subscription. It didn’t work through the app and I’m fed up having to withdrawal money. Due to me not having access to the old account that my billing is going through on Roku, I need any sort of help or refund I can get. I haven’t watched HBO itself in months and as a college student, just simply cannot afford it. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. I’ve tried factory reseting but I simply cannot get access to the gmail account anymore.

Thanks for bringing this to the Community! @Kadence

It sounds like you're having trouble canceling your HBO subscription through the app. Let me assist you in canceling it directly through your Roku. Here's how:

  1. Go to Home
  2. Highlight the HBO app
  3. Press the star (*) button on your remote.
  4. Manage subscription
  5. Turn off Auto-renew.

Here's a link for more detailed instructions. This will prevent any further charges and cancel the subscription. If you would like to dispute this charge, I highly suggest you visit the Roku Support site and start a conversation with one of our billing experts.

Hope this helps!
