hello, I am writing to lodge a complaint against Roku for billing me 8 to 9 days early for trials to Paramount+ and STARZ. I signed up for your 2 month trial for these services at $.99 and $2.99 respectively on 11/30/24. I was billed on 1/21/25 instead of 1/30/25 for these services. So, because you guys billed me earlier than I was expecting, I had to call and get a refund, and now I am jipped out of 9 days of using these services. Any other streamers (Hulu, Peacock, AppleTV+, Disney) do not mislead their customers this way. If I sign up for a 30, 60, 90 day trial that it what I get, and they communicate when I can cancel to not be charged when the trial is over ( usually 24 hours before the end of the trial). So for example, if I sign up for the service on 1/30/25, I know I have until the end of the following month approximately to cancel before being billed. Roku is the only provider that I have used that sets some arbitrary billing cycle that ends up auto charging me early for my trial, which ends up jipping me out of several days to over a week of what I signed up for. This is unfair and needs to be fixed or better communicated to your customers. if I sign up for a 30 day trial, I expect to get my full 30 days before being charged, and not some arbitrary shortened amount of time you’re gonna bill me before I am expecting to get billed.
