Roku has some of the worst customer support I’ve ever seen.

Jump to solution

Why can I not activate my roku device, and why is Roku support non existent?

I’ve been trying to figure out how to reach them all day, in order to cancel a subscription on Hulu I no longer used.

guess what it’s too late they billed me for another month and Roku doesn’t do refunds.

I CANT EVEN ACTIVATE MY **bleep** ROKU DEVICE AND YALL ARE CHARGING ME MONEY

Hi @Hotahota

Thanks for the post.

For account & billing concerns, it may be more effective to get help from our Billing team. You can contact them here: support.roku.com/contactus then choose 'Questions about my account or billing' on the drop-down menu. They are the best ones to help you out with that matter.

All the best,
Kariza

@Hotahota

Roku doesn't charge anything. Did you use a search engine (Google, Yahoo, etc) to find how to set it up? And did the person charge you a fee? If so, you did indeed get scammed, but not by Roku.

Roku doesn't charge to help set up devices. Scammers do.

So, if that's the case, you should deal with that with your credit card company or bank. In the meantime, what issues are you having with setting up a Roku device? What kind of device? Model number (not just the name, but the number if possible) is helpful.

Hi!

Hulu and Roku are separate companies. If you're being charged for Hulu, you need to cancel it through Hulu. That's good news, because you don't need to activate your Roku to do this.

Just go to Hulu's website and log in. You should see a letter in the corner - that's where it lets users switch profiles, but it also has a link called Account that leads to your account management page. It will make you log in again, for security reasons, but there you can deactivate your account.

I don't know if it will give you a refund, but you should also be able to contact Hulu's support from there to discuss that with them.

If that wasn't the only reason you wanted to activate your Roku - if you actually want it activated to watch, I mean - let's talk! What steps did you go through so far? Maybe we can figure out if a spam folder ate your activation link mail or something. Smiley Happy
