I upgraded to a Roku Express 4K and Roku Showtime works fine, but Roku AMC+ and Roku BritBox both have ads on them when watching shows on them. Is this an upgrade bait and switch Roku subscription feature?

Can you please clarify the issue you are experiencing? What kind of subscription do you have to those channels? Are you subscribed through The Roku Channel or to the channels directly? Is the subscription you have supposed to be ad-free?

I have three subscriptions (AMC+, Showtime & BritBox) through Roku. These Roku subscriptions were all commercial free (with some very rare exceptions as noted on the show or film apps) on my 1080p Roku HD Express on the same TV (Hisense U6G). After I plugged in and set up my Roku Express 4K+ the ads started to appear at the start of selecting any movies or shows on the BritBox and AMC+ channel. The commercials do not appear on Showtime (Showtime has their own commercials that you can easily bypass). I also have Amazon Prime outside of Roku, but that is also a non-issue here. 

As a workaround, I can buy BritBox and AMC+ and Showtime through Prime for the same price after the 60 day trials, so I may just switch to that instead of Roku. I have only had Roku subscriptions for about a month now on the $1.99 a month deal to test them out. They worked fine and were all commercial free on the 1080p Roku, but not on the 4k Roku after setting it up. For whatever reason. Roku seems to have zero customer support other than this community, which I find rather poor. I can return the Roku 4k+ and even the TV to BestBuy, no questions asked. I like Roku for some things, but not for others.

Well, tonight when I tested AMC+ and BritBox on my Roku 4k+ unit the ads were gone. I do not know why they appeared in the first place or why they are now gone. But they were watermarked with a circle with "AD" in the upper left side of the screen, and they appeared when I selected any show in those two apps. Now I get to the shows without any ads, as before on my Roku HD unit. The mysteries of high tech.
