Husband account

HI, I have an account with Roku stick for some years now. My husband bought  a Roku Samrt Tv and he created his own account. We're moving to a new house and I would like to know if his account can be linked to mine to watch it in our big TV with my stick or if I can add his account to my account. We have added some paying channels on his TV and I would like to be able to watch them in my stick account without having to pay twice for them. Thank you.

Re: Husband account

It would be easy to move both devices to one account.  (ie: delete all subscriptions on the no-longer used account, then factory reset the corresponding Roku and link it to the desired account.)

I'm not aware of a way to "link" two accounts, while keeping them separate though.

There is also a "Guest mode" which you could look at, but I don't think that's probably what you want.

Re: Husband account

Yes this can be done.  In normal cases the option to link devices is at initial setup when you get a new device.

For an existing devices, you will need to unlink from your current account, factory reset the device, and then link to new account.

Since your husband's account has all the paid subscriptions (linked to his email and account), it is probably easiest to unlink and factory reset your streaming stick and then link your device to his account.  Much less likely to run into subscription problems with this method.

With some of these paid subscriptions,  allowed to be used on different devices (simultaneous connections), so linking of accounts may be unnecessary.  Just install the Channel on your stick and see if able to login while on both his and yours.

Re: Husband account

Let's clarify a couple of things. No, you can't link accounts. No, you can't link a device to more than one account. However, unless you are subscribing to something through your Roku account, you can certainly use the same paid account on devices linked to different users. But again, if those subscriptions are through Roku themselves, then the Roku devices must be linked to the same account.

But if you subscribe to Netflix, Prime Video, Vudu, or any number of other providers directly with those companies, then you can use the same login credentials on both his and your devices without a problem. Just be aware that some providers limit the number of concurrent streams to a single account. So you might not be able to both watch the same provider on different devices at the same time. But I believe almost all of them allow at least two at a time. The least expensive Netflix account is the only one I can think of that limits to one stream.

Re: Husband account

Sorry, should of been clearer if confused people.  Assumed poster was asking how to consolidate her accounts into one account.  I should have specified "devices" can be linked (to one account), but "accounts" can't be linked.
