I want to add a family member to my ROKU acct with their own user profiles. How is this done
You can't, you can add someone to your account but whatever they do on their roku will happen on your's. So have them start with their own email and start a new roku account, so their changes won't effect you. Having two different roku accounts doesn't mean you can't use the same credentials for apps like netflix and Amazon prime and others.
Thanks for your help
I was under the impression that up to three family members residing together can have their own profile/preferences
Can they create an account with their email and logon using my ROKU membership?
Im trying to keep our preferences and viewing ques separate
There is no Roku membership, no profiles. Certain apps like Netflix, YouTube Tv, Hulu and others have there own profile feature, roku does not.
How is this not a thing at this point? You (Roku) offer premium channels much like Prime Video using The Roku Channel. It's time to fix this because it's beyond annoying!

Agreed, I do not want to manage two separate accounts, nor do I want my kids Roku to have the same channels as mine. How is it everyone else gets this?

I manage two accounts. That's how it's done. At least, unless and until Roku introduces a Profiles or some other feature. I have no knowledge about such, and could not say if I did know. But I don't know.

That is my point though, they need profiles. I am not creating 5 separate accounts so everyone can have their own account and then manage each one. even two or three is no for me, it is a work around, but not acceptable. My phone has profiles, my tablet has profiles, most streaming services have some sort of profile. Apple TV gets it. I am not an apple fan at all but they profiles. Amazon fire stick... has profiles. Roku.. nope.
I don't disagree with that. But you ended with a question:
@pdfsmail wrote:... How is it everyone else gets this?
The correct answer to that question is: separate accounts is how you get that functionality today with Roku.
UPDATE: Or are you using "get it" to mean "understand that there is a problem?" Not "get the separate profile for a family member?"
