I received an email to upgrade our device which I would like to accept but am wary of following an Internet link. Is https://rokuupgrade.co.uk/uk/roku-premiere/roku1/rk1e an official Roku owned domain?
I'd like to add that the domain in question was registered by 123-Reg Limited and not by the same company CSC Corporate Domains who registered roku.co.uk or roku.com so it seems like a phishing email to me.
Also the domain uses the DNS servers by 123-reg instead of being AWS based (Amazon web services)
Unofficial Name servers:
ns.123-reg.co.uk
ns2.123-reg.co.uk
vs
Official Name Servers:
ns-1333.awsdns-38.org
ns-2018.awsdns-60.co.uk
ns-673.awsdns-20.net
ns-89.awsdns-11.com
I would be highly suspicious of this. While I have seen Roku offer upgrades in the past, it's always come from a Roku registered address. I suppose it's possible that Roku is using a 3rd party in other locations, but I wouldn't provide anything personal to this company unless Roku can confirm it's legitimacy.
I've already reported it via online chat and am waiting for them to report back.
It's more or less confirmed because it involved an email address I can't recall ever sharing with Roku in the past.
Headers can be forged, it appeared to come from Roku.com
If a fake website, it is the most convincing I ever saw. Only the code they sent me is accepted. But if it was really a personalized offer, then why did they not already know my personal details?
You can confirm the legitimacy of any upgrade offer by going to https://my.roku.com/upgrade/

I actually get an error when I try to navigate to that page.
"The website experienced an unexpected problem"
I wonder if this is region specific? Within my.roku.com there is a "Special offers" link under the "Products" menu, which takes me to https://www.roku.com/en-gb/offers ?
Might be - what happens when you click on your account icon then "Upgrades" (its right under "My account" and above "Channel store", at least on the US site)?
perhaps https://www.roku.com/en-gb/upgrade

There is no "Upgrades" menu item for me (under "My account" or anywhere that I can see).
If I try that link then it redirects to "https://my.roku.com/upgrade/" which then redirects to "https://my.roku.com/500" and I get the same error as above.

So it would seem that the UK site/users dont have access to upgrade offers - interesting. Then again, you also have more restricted/limited model access as well, so it fits with that.
