Roku posted a Black Friday special this morning for Discovery Plus where the subscription was 99c per month for the first three months. When I tried to place the order, I was charged full price of $4.99. When I contacted customer support, they indicated that I need to reach out to Discovery+ as Roku doesn't accept responsibility for what is on their platform.

I assume you signed up through Roku? NEVER do that. Sign up directly at Discovery+'s web site and avoid the middle-man.
I was charged 4.99 and it should've been .99 cents for the next 3 months
