Can you set up two Roku devices on one account, in two different locations?

Jump to solution

I have two Roku devices, both currently on one account. I want to give one to my parents as we don’t use it, and was wondering if I could keep it on my account even if it is in their home so they don’t have to pay for the Hulu.

Hi @Mwing,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

I understand that you want to know if you can keep the Roku account linked to the Roku device before giving it to your parents.

You have the choice to keep or link it to your existing Roku account, however, you should take other precautions if you sharing your Roku streaming device with others, you can create a PIN to prevent them from making purchases or accessing restricted content on The Roku Channel.

Please follow these simple steps to update the Roku PIN code:

  1. Visit my.roku.com.
  2. Sign in if prompted.
  3. Under PIN preference, select Update.
  4. Locate Making purchases and adding content and select A pin is not required to make any purchase or add any items from the Channel Store.
  5. Locate Parental Controls for The Roku Channel and select Off - A PIN is not required to play content within the Roku Channel. The Change current PIN section will disappear from the preferences page.
  6. Select Save Changes.

For full information on this, you can take a look at this link: How do I create or update the PIN for my Roku® account?

  • Notes:

    • Most subscription channels, such as Disney+, Hulu, and Sling TV can be used across your multiple Roku devices, even when they are linked to different Roku accounts.
    • Channels providers may limit the number of devices that can be activated. Check with the channel provider for specific limits.
