Beware subscriptions will not be honored!

Jump to solution

I got a yearly MLB subscription on September 4th, 2024.  Today February 28th, 2025 they charged us a renewal of $134.95.  I called up customer service to see what happened and they said they renewed mlb for the year.  I told them I already have a yearly subscription and she said it renews every year on February 28th.  I asked her if she could look at my subscription and see what she sees further down?  She looked and saw I already had a yearly subscription good until September 4th m, 2025.  She asked me if I wanted to cancel my membership.  I told her I want to cancel the membership that you just changed me $134.95 for and keep the subscription I bought on September 4th.  Next thing I know everything got cancelled and now I have nothing.  She said she was doing a refund but I will have to wait till next week to see if it got put back in.  If they offer you a subscription and you buy it then they should honor it.  I hope things are better for you now.

Hi. Thanks for being here! @JG_32

Just a quick heads-up: your subscription kicks off on the day you got charged and ends on the same date next time! If you decide to cancel, it’ll end on your purchase date not on the day you canceled it. The renewal date and the expiration date can differ. If you're unable to access your subscription anymore, it means it has expired and will automatically renew on the specified renewal date. To confirm this, I recommend reaching out to one of our billing experts by visiting this link, or you can refer to this community post.

I hope this helps!

Same! I was charged for MLB on Feb 28th as well, but the Roku app on my phone says my current subscription is good through July 3, 2025. My PayPal account confirms my last MLB purchase was July 2, 2024. Interestingly in the app, it labels that July subscription as "expired." The Roku website tells a different story saying that the last MLB purchase was in September 2024 - but again my PayPal confirms the purchase in July 2024. On the Roku website, it shows a February 2025 expiration / renewal date so there is a conflict there. Also, this renewal seems to be messing with our app access. When we login to the app on a phone it acts like we only have a "free" account without access to all the features. We haven't had any app access issues until this "renewal."
