yeah typical greedy company,  outsource everything to places you cant contact, or CS you can't understand or get real help from them because the CS know nothing about the item or not get cut and paste responses when you can or the brush off/hang ups.

When you run this TV it comes with 2 things, the TV's software, settings, menus to the app store etc to get more apps etc and the ROKU TV App to watch content.

I can delete one if I don't like what they are doing on it, all I can do with the TV is put it up after spending **bleep** dollars on it.

The only thing the TV software should be doing is setup, settings and keeping the buyer from having to buy a separate ROKU device to stream apps on. Not make customers TV's into advertisement money makers for ROKU as long as its owned and connected online. Let them give away free TV's or cheaper TV's if they want that.

They want to ruin their content viewer app adding all this ad **bleep** to it or making it too big in memory, let them , I can delete it as I have with other apps. Plus like I said in the first post this TV hasn't been updated in months, I'm sure because of this problem. Yet it appears it doesn't need to be, whether it's on auto update, manual or not as they can just add anything they want, like the ANDOR menu and hide setting and who knows what other things they've backdoor-ed into the software they can do. certainly nothing to fix TV issues

Amazon tablets are like that, you can buy one cheaper because it has ad's on the opening unlock screen, but at least you can spend a little more and have the options to never see ad's or have it become unusable until you delete your own stuff so their ads can run.

This Tv doesn't have any memory or cache options for the TV or any channel,  just factory reset and channel /app reset which I assume sets any thing to default settings.

When my other Tv's have those options I know how to empty the cache etc. Or unplugging the Roku devices I used to use. This is more of a case of tons of ads and options being added I can't refuse that end in no memory to run some of my apps on the TV.

Among other issues I've had before with older updates messing the sound up for no reason other than to add coded features to add ads and junk that doesn't make the Tv work any better...

Like this past Andor thing, why would anyone need to see it 3 times on one screen, The menu, an ad below the menu and a bigger one off to the right all on the same screen, just so Roku can try to make a buck off Disney referrals. Put that **bleep** on the Roku app not the TV. I'll add my own apps not Roku's "recommendations" which are just cash grabs for Roku, and not even the manufacture of the TV. Which is Hisense.

All these companies do this, Prime Video a great example, you pay for a membership to access it, then when you get on to use it 80% or more are advertisers or links almost the entire rows of content to Disney. paramount, max and other things you need membership to view or trying to **bleep** people into free trials etc. and the rest are "rent" this or "buy" or just plain b movies or lower garbage for the actual subscription it's a big rip off BUT at least it's on the Prime App and not the TV itself like Roku is doing.

Next time I buy a TV I will not get Roku or Android etc if that can be avoided these days. I have plenty of streaming devices I can pull from the closet.

PS Roku your own app is garbage these days too, it used to be somewhat decent but I never really used it much as I've had paid memberships to others. Recently at work where there is an Android Tv I tried to view the Roku app which has become not only garbage but it rips off other platforms. like Pluto. You run the menus of "free" ROKU content but instead of playing the show it opens a suedo version of a one channel Pluto with no options or other channels, or it opens other streaming places and other paid app sites like Disney that obviously wont play unless you're a member there or tells me I have to install the channels app. Maybe it always did this but I don't remember it doing so in the past. Just like a Prime Video clone. basically just a listing tool for other places with content. I don't need to spend money for that whether it's $35+ for a device or 100's-1,000's on a TV.
