Wrong Roku remote included for my Roku Ultra

The Roku Ultra I  purchased from Amazon should have had an enhanced remote (backlit, voice control, rechargeable battery), but I received was a "gaming remote".  This is a very basic remote that was not even able to control my LG smart TV's volume or power and had no voice controls.  The seal on the box was intact before I opened it.  I am returning the Ultra but need to know whether I will get the same "gaming remote" if I reorder another Ultra.

  • Those gaming remotes came with the 4660x model Roku Ultras that came out in 2017. I have two of those Ultras and two of those remotes. Sounds like the seller on Amazon shipped you an old model player instead of the current one. You should have ordered it from Roku.com instead.

  • A lot of stores make returns super easy and they can reseal/shrink wrap just like the manufacturers.  In addition, Amazon has had issues where all packages of an SKU go into the same bin, so when you buy, and you check that the seller is Amazon, that hasn't always meant the widget plucked out of the bin was actually put in there by Amazon.  I don't know if they've solved that one.  Over the years, I've had one product from Amazon that was very clearly a fake, and another that performed so badly, that I THINK it was probably fake.

Amusingly, I did a search for: fake products on amazon

And Bing produced the helpful message: Not all third-party sellers on Amazon sell fake products.

Wow! not ALL?  But perhaps that is just AI silliness.
