I was wondering with all other streaming out there will roku get a DVR device to record shows so u don't have to wait 3 to 5 months for it to come back around on a restart on some shows or at least think about getting it
Highly unlikely. The Roku TV does support pausing live TV when a USB storage device is connected, but that's not the same as a DVR. The Roku OS is designed to be extremely small, so it's unlikely there's even room to add DVR recording functions.
And even the big companies like Comcast and Spectrum have struggled with making a reliable cloud-based DVR as they learned quickly you couldn't just slap together a server and run a consistent recording service without a big investment and new good quality equipment. This is something I am not sure Roku has the resources or capabilities to do at the moment, nor do they probably have the inclination as it would require a number of agreements with third party channels to allow for such recordings.
