Voice remote pro showing wrong battery level numbers

In the last couple days I've been having issues with my voice from road pro where it says it has no battery but then I go to plug it in and the battery keeps changing from 68% to 33% to 52%,.

Town and I went to turn on the TV and it thought the remote was dead so it wouldn't turn it on. Then when I plugged in the remote to power to recharge it said immediately that it had 68% battery.

I have tried rebooting the remote but still seeing the issue

Any thoughts? Thank you

  • These rechargeable remotes are junk! I have three and none will get a full charge to 100%. Battery level drops fast and keeps changing, suddenly it's higher, then lower, then higher again. Plus randomly getting spammed on the screen with the battery level indicator in the top right corner of the screen when watching videos even with a high charge.

My solution was stop using the rechargeable remotes, I've gone back to my older model Roku remotes that take two double A batteries. I remove the batteries from the remote after I am done with the Roku and put them back in when I am ready to watch again.

I've been doing this for a few months now and each time I check the battery level in the setting it says 100% charged. I know from experience if I had left the batteries in 24/7 they'd be draining while I am not using the remote. I compare this with my two Fire TV remotes for my Fire Stick and Fire Cube and each one is still using the same batteries that came with the devices one and two years ago with NO issues! Roku remotes are terribly designed and need to be completely revamped, but Roku is too cheap to do it.

Now their new Roku Ultra comes with that terrible new Voice Remote Pro second edition, I will never buy an Ultra again. You should get a choice between the rechargeable remote that is unreliable and a regular battery powered one. They even took away the headphone jack so it is worse than the original first edition remote!
