Voice Remote Pro Pairing to Streaming stick on LG TV

I received a Voice Remote Pro as a gift. I have a streaming stick in my LG TV. I currently use an existing Roku remote. Two issues. When I log into Roku I don't see a way to add this remote to my account. The biggest issue is that I can't pair it. I press the home and back button and the light blinks. I tried putting it next to the streaming stick, but that did not help. I posted this question earlier and the only response was that the remote was not compatible, but the Roku site says it will work with the streaming stick. Thanks for any assistance.
