Voice feature not working on Roku Express 4K+

When I try to perform a voice command using the remote, I get "Unable to hear you, try again" response.  Using the app nothing happens, it just sits there listening. 

I've done ALL the obvious things to try to fix:

Check for updates 

Remove/Replace batteries 

Unplug Device & restart 

Still nothing
