Using a Roku Streambar as a Sound bar only

I received a Streambar for Christmas and want to use as a Soundbar only.  I do not have a available HDMI port as the TV is only equipped with 2 ports and both are in use..    I do have a optical port that is not being use.  Can I use the streambar with only the optical port cable?

    Yes, with optical cable whatever is displayed on the tv its audio will be heard through the Streambar.

    Yes, that will work, if you get the error for arc, just press back key and go on with setting it up.

    It appears that you have to use a hmdi port to be able to access the set up menu.  Once it is set up can I disconne the cable and plug back the fire stick I am using?  Remember I so not have another available port.
