It is possible the display auto detection encountered an issue while you were setting it up at hotel. (ie. different display type).
Best bet is to try and Factory Reset the device and set it up again. (press and hold reset button for 30+ seconds). ***Make sure you have a working physical Roku remote before performing the Factory Reset.
Just use the same email address (Roku account) you did initially and all your channels/apps will be restored automatically. (will likely have to login to your subscriptions though, if applicable).
Would kind of recommend manually setting it to 720p during the setup, and then increasing it to higher display if needed from Settings/Display Type after successfully getting through setup.
