We see occasional reports of updates failing to complete, either on initial setup or later update.
There are a couple of things people have reported worked when a setup fails to complete.
Easiest to try, so try this first: Restart your router, even if other devices have no trouble connecting. When your router has completed its startup, try repeating your Roku setup or update.
More involved: Repeat the setup or update by connecting to a different wifi network - perhaps via a wifi hotspot on your mobile phone or by taking it to a friend's house - and see if it will complete. If successful, then redo the wifi connection to use your intended wifi network via Settings > Network > Set up connection.

How long does it take to updating channels it's been over 10 minutes now

It shouldn't take that long. If it appears stuck, try restarting your device by cycling the power. If it still doesn't update, try restarting all of your network equipment - gateway/modem/router.

The channel update during setup varies depending on your internet strength. It will not usually exceed 5 minutes; however, if it's taking too long, we suggest you reboot your router.
