Unable to connect to Dorm/Hotel Wi-fi

I've been trying to connect my Roku TV to my RV parks wifi. The wifi is working with all other devices. The issue is you have to accept terms and conditions before it will connect and TV doesn't give this option. From what I've read you are supposed to connect with you dorm/hotel but it simply doesn't give the option. Once PW is I put it attempts to connect and then doesn't.

Go into your Settings/System/Advanced system settings and make sure that "Device connect" is enabled. The dorm/hotel function won't work without that turned on. Then perform a Network connection reset (it's under the same menu) to clear the current connection and try it again.

It's turned on, it won't even allow you to turn that setting off while the voice remote is connected (I tried turning it off so that I could turn it back on) and it's still not giving the option for dorm/motel when connecting it to wifi. I'm at a loss of what to do next. Every other device connects just fine to the wifi.

        Hey, Krystin11

We understand that you don't have the option to connect your Roku TV to your dorm/motel's Wi-Fi. Could you share more information about this?

        • Did you receive any error messages/codes on the TV screen? If so, can you tell us what message is shown?
        • What other troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
        • Did you encounter this after the latest update?

Please inform us so that we can take a closer look at this.

  • When trying to connect to my RV park's wifi, I find the network, enter the password and then it says "Unable to connect to wireless network" Error 014.
When I was asking about this before someone had mentioned needed to connect to the dorm/hotel setting due to the park requirements for accepting terms and conditions before it allows connection. I've never had to do this before because the last rv park didn't have terms to sign. So I'm not sure if the option was available prior to the last update. I haven't been able to use my TV in months now. It is currently on software version 14.5

Every other device in my home connects to the wifi fine but after a pop up window appears where I can accept the terms and conditions.

Krystin11 the hotel/dorm option has existed for years. But there's no way to trigger it manually. Your Roku has to recognize that the WiFi doesn't have Internet access until you accept the terms, which requires you to connect a phone/laptop to the Roku as described under the instructions Roku provides. But if the network is allowing your Roku to "see" the Internet in some way, the hotel/dorm function isn't triggered. We have asked Roku for years to add a way to manually trigger the function, but so far nothing. If the network you're connecting to is working this way, unfortunately there's nothing you can do.

There's a bit of a complicated workaround, but it's too detailed to go over here. But it requires setting up a computer that connects to the WiFi, then shares the connection through it's Ethernet port to a separate network. But as I said, it's too complicated to explain here.
