Unable to connect to a new Wi-Fi extender

Hi all, we have a new WiFi from EE which gives a perfect signal downstairs but not up.

So I have bought a WiFi extender, the signal is now excellent But even though Roku can find the new extender on its settings, they are saying internet download speed is poor but the settings are showing excellent.

Hope this makes sense, can anyone please help.

    Hi, Jojoba12

    Welcome!

Thanks for reaching out regarding your network connection issue with your Roku device. I'd like to gather additional details so we can review this.

Share with us the details below:

    • Have you checked the network connection speed on your Roku device?
    • Are you experiencing any issues staying connected to the network on your Roku device?
    • What is the signal strength displayed on the Roku device?
    • While streaming, do you encounter any buffering, and what is the exact number of the download speed?

In the meantime, you can check your network status using your Roku device. To do this, navigate to Settings > Network > Check Connection.

    Keep us posted.

    Thanks,

  • Have you tried using a network app to determine whether there's channel congestion in the area mentioned? I am unfamiliar with "EE" though knowing the model of both the Roku and the extender would be helpful..While there's no guarantee, there's a chance that others in the upstairs area may be using the same channel making the connection difficult. If this isn't the case, you might want to get support from the company that manufactures the extender
