Your backlight has most likely failed. It's a common problem on cheap TVs, Roku or otherwise. If it's still under warranty, contact the manufacturer.

If it’s TCL dont bother with the customer assistance chat unless you are within the one year warranty. My tv is just under 2 years old (manufacturing date on tv) and they offered no help outside of turning it off and back on or resetting which I had already tried. I’m just without a tv now.
