Turn off Roku Express 4K Status light

Our Roku express has a sensor light, a blue LED. I’ve looked up how to get rid of it, but all instructions don’t apply to the express (one instruction is to go through settings and turn off LED standby, but that’s for Roku bars and TVs, not express. Another was to turn it off with the remote - there is no power button on remote. Finally, press home before turning off tv and it will go to sleep and turn off on its own - it didn’t). Does anyone know if it’s even possible to turn off the light without unplugging it on the Roku express 4K?

It's supposed to go off when the screen saver activates or it goes into "power saving". Not all Roku devices have a "power saving" mode, so if There's no Power category under Settings->System then that doesn't apply.  It seems to be unreliable whether it will go off, but try setting the Screensaver start time under Settings->Theme to 1 minute and then press Home on your remote and wait a minute to see if it goes out.

Our new Roku Express 4K+ has the power setting to go to sleep 20 minutes after the TV turns off, but it does not.  The power indicator stays on all night, even after I verified the power save setting is turned on.  Is there a way to correct this?

For the auto power savings, it's really 20 minutes of no activity - which means you shouldn't leave it playing a stream. As far as the TV being on, and switched to the correct input, it seems that sometimes Rokus can tell that, and sometimes they can't.  (Speaking of inputs, you could try switching the TV to a different one, and see if the Roku notices.)  Also note that anything in between like a splitter/switch might affect this.

If worst comes to worst, a little piece of black electrical tape has probably worked a least a few hundred million times for LED issues.  I have several devices with LEDs covered in electrical tape in my field of view right now.
