TCL Roku TV forced to reactivate after software update.

TCL Roku 40 inch.  Software auto update last night to 14.5.4 Build 5944.

Turned on this AM and was forced to reactivate TV (but not reinstall from new) and also several of the apps.  Had to reconfigure home screen options and move app icons back to where I had them.  Had to rename inputs (e.g. DVD player on AV input).  But I didn't have to configure WiFi network again nor scan antenna channels.

Any idea why.  Will this happen on every software update?
