TCL Roku TV Black screen with sound. How to delete info

Hello,

I've only had my TCL Roku TV less than a year. Bought it in 2022, didn't unbox it until my other TV died last October. I was watching TV last night and the screen went black. You can hear sounds, but no picture. I tried resetting it with the tiny button. Didn't work. Called customer service, no help. Because I pressed the reset button over a dozen times, does that mean all my info is deleted? Because I don't want to throw it out until I know it's deleted. Help plz!!

    Do you hear any sounds when you press buttons on the remote?  If you shine a bright light on it, do you see any kind of picture at all?

    It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue. Pressing the reset button multiple times doesn’t necessarily delete all your information. Typically, a factory reset is required to erase data, which can be done through the settings menu if you can access it. If the screen is still black, you won’t be able to perform this yourself, so I recommend trying one more time to connect an external device (like a phone or tablet) via the Roku app to see if you can control the TV that way. If all else fails, it may be best to consult a technician to ensure your personal information is wiped before disposing of the TV.
