System restart doesn't work

Power>System Restart goes back to home screen without restarting. Unplugging also goes straight to home screen without restarting. Restarting is necessary daily to make closed captions work. Brand new four day old 4k stick. Three month old LG TV. Closed captions problem has existed for about two years on other Rokus also. Will not do factory reset, did that on previous Roku and it would not do anything after that.
