Someone gave me an XD to try. It did not work, and I found out from Roku that they no longer support it. I am thinking of buying an Express, but I found out they stopped making it 2 months ago. So, how long until they stop working? The Roku website only shows sticks and the Ultra. So they've moved on. Amazon is still selling a lot of Express devices. Thoughts?
The XD is really old and would be pretty much worthless even if you could activate it. There have been many "Express" devices over the years. It's really the model number that matters. You can see what devices are still receiving updates here:

I don't have a crystal ball, but I suspect that the devices that are currently receiving updates will probably continue to receive updates for a while.
