Stuck on Let’s Get Started

Purchased new streaming stick for device—tv reads it, remote is paired to tv and works on tv. BUT, when I open up Roku, it won’t do anything past the let’s get started screen: I can’t scroll through the languages and when I click on English, it just pulls up a window that labels which HDMI port it’s plugged into.
