Streaming Stick 4K with projector

I bought the Streaming Stick 4k to use with a projector, but that seems imposible. It keeps asking to pair the remote to a TV. There is no TV to pair it with and it won't move past the screen asking it to find my TV brand. Will this device work with projectors? I've used previous Roku devices to stream to projectors in the past. I'm very upset. I thought I was purchasing a streaming device and not a remote control.

    I think you can just press the reset button or disconnect the power for a few seconds and let it restart and setup will be completed.  You could also just go through the TV remote setup and pick a random brand and let it fail.  It will say your TV can't be controlled and move on.
