Stereo headphones on Roku player

I have an older model Roku player, 4200X, which is working fine. Alas, the headphones only play monoaural audio, not in stereo. I don't see any way to change that in the 4200X, so does Roku make a player whose headphones play in stereo? Thanks.

    Hi boulderco,

We are glad to have you here in the Roku Community!

The Roku remote offers stereo output.

If you aren't hearing stereo output, try the following:

    • Ensure the headphone jack is fully inserted.
    • Use the included headphone set or a replacement that can be purchased here.
    • Ensure your headphone set offers stereo compatibility. If the set supports stereo, you should see two bands around the headphone jack, but check the manufacturer's specs to be sure.

    Thanks,

Greetings. Thank you for the reply. Oops, I found the earbuds that came with the Roku Voice Remote Pro remote control that I bought to replace the original remote that came with the Roku 4200X. The earbuds play in stereo but are very uncomfortable and tend to fall out. I prefer over-ear headphones. Suggestions?

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, boulderco!

It's great that you asked that! You may look for any headphones online or at any nearest retail store that has a wire for you to connect to your Roku Remote Pro.

Let us know how it goes.
