Why would you END PCM support? Now I can't use my optical cable (best audio option) because you decided to stop that? Why? I would love to hear an adequate answer....support people ran away like ostriches (head in the sand too)
Its not clear what Roku device/model you have (Roku TV? old player model with optical output?), but at the very least all RokuOS devices support PCM at a minimum for 2.0 output support.
You should probably state your Roku device/model # and firmware version/build.
In general Settings/Audio/digital output format = Stereo should get you 2.0 audio via any interface, including Optical.
